I tried copying some folders containing jpegs onto this drive and the speeds were disappointingly slow (starting at 18MB/sec and slowing to around 5MB/sec). I was in doubt as whether my USB3 ports were working correctly. I checked the Transcend datasheet and the maximum speeds are listed as 70MB/sec read and 19MB/sec write. I tried copying the files back and was impressed with the speed at which they transferred back. 8gb worth of photos copied back in a matter of seconds. I have given 3 stars because although it utilizes a USB3 interface, the write speed is nearer what I would expect to see from a USB2 drive. I have an Asus P8P67 LE R3 P67 Socket 1155 motherboard with 2 x USB 3 ports and the latest drivers installed. Running Windows7 64 bit, Intel Core i7 2600 processor and 8GB. My boot drive is a Corsair 120GB Force 3 SSD. Using ATTO disk benchmark, the best read speed I can get is 52MB/sec which isn't terrible but a write speed of just 18MB/sec is useless. Especially as if I put the drive in a USB 2 port the results are only slightly worse at 34MB/sec read and 17MB/sec write. If anyone knows a better USB 3b flash drive I'd love to hear about it.
