This Samsung printer is definitely one of the most compact mono laser printer's I've seen - It's probably about three quarters of the size of the HP model which it's going to replace. It also has the added advantage of being wireless (in theory) and therefore you can use it with multiple computers without a complicated wiring system.Initial installation was relatively quick, however I found that I had to reinstall on several occasions because the computer didn't seem to be able to re-establish connection with the printer after it was shut down. From what I can determine, this was because the IP address which the printer was allocated on initial setup was later being used by another computer, and hence when the first computer looked at the IP address for the printer, it found a second computer using it instead! This then required a re-install of the printer, so that it could be allocated a new IP address. It looked like a single re-install might have solved... Read more 12 of 12 people found the following review helpful  Good printer for the price but not perfect, This review is from: Samsung ML-1865W Black Mono Laser Printer (Wireless) (Accessory) I bought this printer based on the positive reviews here and am relatively happy with it.It is certainly compact and quiet and very easy to set up. The wireless printing function is extremely useful if I am working in another room and want to print without a connecting wire. However, the printer went through a few days of telling me it had a paper jam every time I pressed print when it didn't and I had to go to the printer to open it up and close it again for every sheet printed! Apart from that, which may be a small glitch, I am happy with the product. Be warned though that, as with ink printers, it only comes with a toner cartridge with a little in, so after 2 weeks of not much printing, I am having to spend around �55 on a new toner cartridge. It's definitely worth buying one at the same time as the printer so you don't end up, like me, having to wait days for a new cartridge before being able to use the printer again. 9 of 9 people found the following review helpful  Quick, easy and compact, This review is from: Samsung ML-1865W Black Mono Laser Printer (Wireless) (Accessory) This printer is very easy to setup and use. I have set it up with my network and works perfect. It is very compact and fits very neatly on my desk. It performs very fast and efficiently and is very quiet when it prints. A very good buy. |
