TRUE STORY., Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: TP Link 500 MBps Gigabit Powerline Adapter - Twin Pack (Accessory) ok, i was quite scepticle/sceptical/skeptikal(?) about how good these things could really be; always been on direct ethernet before as i do alot of downloading and gaming so i need a very fast reliable connection. Just moved house, my family has 5 computers, 2 internet tv's and an xbox, all of which needed connecting to the net. We tried wireless for a while but the connection was way too slow and unreliable, especially because the router had to be in quite an isolated room of the house. No way we could have 20 metre LAN cables running all over the house and having proper ethernet plugs put in the walls was out of the question. So I watched a few reviews and found us a good deal on a whole bunch of these adaptors made by a decent company, particularly the 500mbps versions as apparently this equates to about 80mb broadband as the bandwidth limit (not 100% sure on this, but several unit-convertors agreed with me). I have nothing but praise for TP Link Powerline adapters which effectively convert your home electricity network via the power sockets to a fast wired Ethernet network.Set up is remarkably straightforward. You simply plug in one of the adapters close to your broadband modem, run (a supplied) Ethernet cable between them, and plug the second adapter in to a convenient socket near to the device you want to connect to the Internet. The two adapters need to be paired but this is simply achieved by pressing a small button on the adapter connected to your modem and the remote adapter. That is literally it and it's reassuring that the documentation with the adapters is little more than a sheet of paper with very straightforward diagrams and instructions to get you up and running. In the latest iteration of Powerline the adapters have a maximum speed of 500MBps - this is very fast when compared to the maximum speed of BT's Infinity service of, until recently 40MBps, and now...
