I chuck my Tab in my handbag, and the hard plastic protects it reasonably well from any debris at the bottom of the bag, so it does do its main job. It stays closed well, as the flap wraps around the case, and is kept in place by magnets. The case looks smart, and doesn't add too much bulk to the Tab. The big benefit also is that it exposes all of the black "bezel" around the tablet, so it looks really nice with all of the surfaces free and is pleasant to hold. You can have the case in three positions. Firstly typing position, secondly a viewing position and thirdly a reading position where the small flap acts as a convenient holding support for one's hand. As the inside of the case are rubbery the viewing and typing positions stay well in place, even in movement (e.g. in an aeroplane or train). However, the design feels flawed, in the rare instance you want to use the camera, the cover needs to be lifted up. the power button, occasionally gets pressed when closed and no cut out for the I/O connector when the case is closed - the flap needs to be opened to allow for connectivity. not sure what else is out there but there are cheaper 'ipad' clone cases which seem more practical. 22 of 24 people found the following review helpful By This review is from: Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Clip-in Case - Black (Wireless Phone Accessory) This is an excellent case. Slim, easy to grip and professional looking. The problem is when you have it in desktop mode (ie. So that you can type) the device is upside down from its "default" manufactured orientation. Ie some applicants open up upside down. Most self correct when you pick up the tab, but some don't, which becomes annoying. Biggest problem is taking photos with the cover on as you have to open it and keep it in its most extended position so as to not cover the lense. This I suppose you will have as a problem on all folder type covers. Also when you charge the device the flap remains open. Anyway, none of my remarks relate to the cover itself, it is brilliant, available in south Africa directly from Samsung if you don't want to wait for snail mail delivery, and does not cost an arm and a leg. Most importantly, and this truely matters, THERE IS NO APPLE LOGO ON IT!!! Hip hip... hooray! Do I hear another hip? |
