Got this drive for it's storage size but (as per other users) had to reformat it into NTFS before being able to use it. This also meant losing any files/info/programs that came with it but didn't really care too much about that as just wanted the big storage capability anyway . Does seem a hassle to have to do that though. Having said all that, if you can be bothered to do a very simple format job (through the drive utility on the pc) and can wait for the 8-10 hours that this will take THEN it's whisper quiet, looks good and is a massive amount of storage for the price.

I run Mac OS X Lion, and am using this drive for Time Machine backups. Reliable 2TB disk drive, no errors at all so far, fingers crossed. Also it is very slim, doesn't take up much space. It is also very quiet, only occasionally you hear it click on and off.
The box says it's made in Japan. Which is always reassuring.

ordered this as a backup disc to use with my macbook pro and time machine,excellent,unpacked,plugged in,worked within a minute,true 2 tb space available,it is running nice and quiet in the background.excellent value for money too recommend it highly
