    5.0 out of 5 stars A real powerhouse, 27 Mar 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase( What is this?)
This review is from: Samsung Series 7 Chronos 700Z 15.6 inch Laptop (Intel Core i7 2675QM 2.2GHz, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD, DVD-SM DL, LAN, WLAN, BT, Webcam, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit) (Personal Computers)
I don't normally write reviews for products I buy on Amazon but this time I felt compelled. It's not perfect but it's pretty damned close and I'm more than happy to give it 5 stars.

    OK, here's my review:

    Build quality & layout
This thing is a million miles from any laptop I've ever used in terms of build. I'm used to top-end HP laptops and this makes them feel like plastic toys. The aluminium chassis gives it a premium feel. It doesn't creek when picking it up and moving it around and it is very slim. The keyboard is wonderful; the keys have a very smooth action, it's back-lit which I find very useful in low light situations and it has a dedicated number pad. As others have mentioned in reviews the space bar sometimes doesn't register if you don't strike it in the middle or thereabouts. The scroll pad is actually fine. A lot of people have moaned that there are no clickable buttons but this isn't entirely true as the pad is clickable on the front edge - it's... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice Machine, 3 Mar 2012
This review is from: Samsung Series 7 Chronos 700Z 15.6 inch Laptop (Intel Core i7 2675QM 2.2GHz, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD, DVD-SM DL, LAN, WLAN, BT, Webcam, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit) (Personal Computers)
I purchased this laptop in December 2011. I too was suprised that it did not have a Blue Ray Disc Player, this was not clear when I purchased it. It,s performance is superb, my one negative comment is with CS5 Photopshop extended when working on art subjects is that it gets very hot, and I have to put it on a fan base, but it is exceptionally fast at processing and mine works all over a large area on WI Fi with the BT Hub. I also have a top of the range Toshiba Portege costing over double the price and it compares well with this, Nice Machine.

    4.0 out of 5 stars Good high-end laptop, 23 Feb 2012
This review is from: Samsung Series 7 Chronos 700Z 15.6 inch Laptop (Intel Core i7 2675QM 2.2GHz, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD, DVD-SM DL, LAN, WLAN, BT, Webcam, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit) (Personal Computers)
It has really powerful performance on both daily use and high-end entertainment applications (such as 3D games and HD movies). And the design is my favorite, the silver color and slim design makes it look cool and fashionable. Indeed, you can carry it to everywhere from cafeteria to office. Moreover, the price is attractive if you compare it with the same level MacBook or high-end laptops from other manufacturers (sony, acer etc).

Two tiny things I have to point out is 1) the battery can only be charged at 80% (guess due to the battery protection program installed by samsung; 2) the laptop does not have a Blue Ray DVD driver which is rare for a laptop around 1000.

Overall, I have to say although it has some tiny issues, the laptop is still a very good one, for those who wanna buy high-end laptops, I recommond it as a good choice.
