I've been using it extensively for the last 2 months. Other reviewers have made plenty of comments on the various features so i will try and keep that in summary form. I always want to know what's bad about a product when I buy it so I've focused more on mentioning the bad. However despite some of its shortcomings it is still the best phone I've ever used - the good outweighs the bad by miles. I must say that I travel between two coutries a lot and in my home country (Sri Lanka) I use this purely as a tablet with a sim that is only active for data. The other half of my time (I spend around 10 days every month in Bangladesh) I use this as my local mobile phone for calls and internet/email. However I donlt get... I don't know if Apple made white the cool colour to own, or people just realised that white goes with everything, but it's certainly now the colour to have.The phone has been available in other colours for a few months but is still on the cutting edge of technology, particularly when it comes to convergence i.e. one machine that acts as your phone/tablet/PC etc. It would be great to only have one small device to lug around and Samsung have given it a good go with this phone. 5.3" Screen - So in order to try and bridge the gap between a phone and a tablet, Samsung have started by giving the Note one of the largest screens on a phone at 5.3". With a HD Super Amoled 1200 x 800 the colours are bright and vivid and the HD resolution means everything is just that little bit crisper. Once I had looked at what I needed a phone and tablet for it fitted the bill perfectly. The first trip to the local phone shops to see the phone my initial impressions were - this phone is far too big. I looked at all the reviews on the net and after a second trip to the shops decided I could live with its size (it still fits in your pocket). Purchased the white version from Amazon which is a bit more expensive but my wife agreed that this is the best colour.If you do go for this phone be prepared as I was for comments such as "What is that", "that is a brick","Have you got a briefcase for that phone". I think we have been conditioned to believe that a phone should be a certain size, however having owned the phone for a few weeks now I can honestly say I could never go back to a small screen phone and think Samsung have got it right for the Note. |
