Having read atleast 50 reviews on other products I decided to zero in on Microsft product. The build is definitely sturdy and supports 15.6 inch laptop without any problem. I have a Dell 630 laptop which gets hot enough to cook half a dozen eggs within 15 minutes of starting up but I have left this for 8 hours straight and there has been no signs of overheating so far.

Having looked at a few different cooling bases i decided to go with this one and have to say it does a excellent job at cooling my 17 inch dell laptop,monitored temperatures have dropped from 5 to 10 degrees celcius on cpu and video card and the base is cool all the time now,the design of the base allows the air to circulate all a long the base of the laptop and be blown out either side of the middle of the base,the only downside is the the noise of the fan as it is quite loud but out from that i don't think you will get a better cooling base Pros 1 Good value 2 Well designed 3 Does a good job 4 Holds the laptop securely Cons 1 quite noisy 2 stand looks a bit flimsy. .

Item is very useful, only drawback is its loudness. This is not noticeable if there are other sounds in the room, but if it is quiet around you, can become annoying after a time.
