(Oh, and thumb drive too). All worked well for 24 hours. Then I couldn't get my laptop to recognise it anymore, and various nasty error messages about not recognising generic hubs came out! I frustratedly tried all the workarounds and then realised that whenever I moved the unit and inadvertantly touched the cable between the hub and the laptop the two started to talk to eachother! I then remembered that among the earlier customer comments I had read for this product there was mention of problems with the cable. So I rooted around in my box of bits and found an old USB cable that had connected my faithful old Palm PDA*. I used it and hey presto - all started to work and has now been successfully running for two weeks. So it pays to read the customer comments... The hub is bit like an elongated tobacco tin (gosh, I'm showing my age), silver and black in colour, with five ports at the front, four at the back, and one on the right-hand side. There's a mains adapter, as you'd expect, and a discreet blue LED to show power. When you attach the leads, if you put some on both front and back, the thing is pretty stable, and doesn't try to leap off the desk like some hubs. It really just does the job, very well. 20 of 20 people found the following review helpful By This review is from: Trust 10 Port Usb 2.0 Power Hub (Electronics) I ordered this a few weeks ago and it arrived very quickly! It arrived in a fustrating blister pack - so beware and have something ready to cut into the packaging. All the required cables were in the pack and the item worked first without any issues on Windows 7. There is a slight difference to one one pictured on the site as the one I received has a blue-led on the top - not greed as pictured. But that is not a problem. The hub is very small and very light and the power cable is nice and long so this reaches to the spot on my desk that I wanted it. Thanks Trust for a brilliant hub! |
