    We bought this laptop for our second year university student daughter. She had a Toshiba machine previously and this one was to replace what had been a fantastic laptop. This new one has a in no way disappointed. It's fast, easy to set up and easy to use. It also has some new features that older Toshiba's didnt have and they are good too. Great price point for what you get and really as a student you dont need anything more or more expensive.

    This laptop is not as good as I exopected.
    Despite the good CPU this laptop is slow because the disk and the graphic card are slow and they slow the whole laptop down.
    The pad mouse is not in the center and it is in a not natural position.
    Battery life is ok.
    There is only 2 USB and they are so close to each other that when you use an Internet USB dongle the other USB is covered (so, for example, you cannot use a mouse at the same time).
    The form factor is quite bulky.
    The included OEM software is very essential, excluding the demo products... there is nothing else.
    Audio HW is quite primitive and volume is low: hard to listen to a movie without external speakers (hard to hear it).
    The webcam is joke: all blurred, it must be a VGA at best.

    I have one Samsung notebook and one Samsung netbook. Despite they are older, they are far better engineered and do offer better performance in the same price range.

    This is my first laptop and I needed one that would be capable of creating digital art with the likes of Corel Painter and Artrage using a Wacom Intuos4 small, and given the specs of this machine, it should be more than enough.
    It should also be fine to run most, if not all of the indie games I have bought through Steam as well as some of the older, bigger titles. I'll report back on how that goes if I can.

    I only received this laptop today and it has taken a little bit of configuring to get it set up but it was all plain sailing.
    Once it was running, there were quite a few Windows updates (about 160MB) to download for the pre-installed Win7 64 bit OS, but that was expected.

    I also had to remove some of the bundled software (mainly McAfee antivirus) and install my own preferred security software which has never given me any problems during years of use (Avast! anti-virus free, Spywareblaster free, Ccleaner, and Comodo firewall).
